This week, our Lead Pastor Nate wraps up our teaching series, “The Good Life,” by looking at Jesus’ most perplexing words in His happiness manifesto: “Happy are the persecuted” (Mt 5:10). How could this possibly be? Could it be we’ve so squeezed out any element of suffering from our definition of “the good life” that we lack an imagination for how this is even possible? Our personal versions of “the good life” don’t seem to be helping the happiness statistics or the depression rates. So just what exactly is Jesus saying here, and how does He define “the good life?” Be encouraged and take a listen.
