Jesus completely redefines greatness by teaching that true greatness comes through serving others, not seeking position or power. When James and John asked for seats of honor, Jesus explained that whoever wants to be great must become a servant. The early church in Acts demonstrates this principle beautifully – they shared life together, served one another, and held their possessions loosely. This servant-hearted community experienced remarkable unity and growth. We can apply this today by prioritizing church community, volunteering to serve others, and holding our resources with open hands, ready to use them for God’s purposes.
