Our Lead Pastor Nate continues teaching through our series, “The Good Life.” In the middle of Jesus’ head-scratching happiness manifesto, Jesus says, “Happy are the pure in heart, for they will see God.” It’s important that we realize *how* this works. If we don’t realize how it works to be “pure in heart,” these words will become a weight, a burden too heavy to bear. And that misunderstanding will lead to feelings of hopelessness, like we’ll never measure up. We’ve already noted Jesus isn’t in the market for extensive religious resumes; he’s not actually interested in those at all. So what does Jesus mean by His words? Jesus knows we don’t need a reformed heart; we need a new heart – a heart transplant – and that’s exactly what He’s come to do. Be encouraged, and take a listen.
